The prototype device is said to be coming later this year, and it's running Windows -- Ballmer showed it running the PC Kindle app. It's also multitouch, and can do some gaming. This is great news for me. I've been building a WPF/Silverlight 4.0 custom framing solution for a company in Minneapolis and we were on the verge of buying an iPad and I'd start learning iPhone/iPad/iTouch development. Definitely not my forte. This is very exciting because we'll be able to have the photographers use this device to show their clients what their photos would look like custom framed in front of them... no matching frames or anything like that!
